PITAS: The body of a woman was discovered among a pile of tree branches near the Nibang River Bridge and was retrieved by the Fire and Rescue Department before being handed over to the police for further investigation.
The identity of the deceased has yet to be confirmed.
Pitas Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Senior Fire Officer II Noor Jali Maslah, said five personnel led by Senior Fire Officer I Gabuh Maradan were dispatched to the scene, about 34km away, after a call was received from the police at 7.21am on Thursday.
The team used ropes to retrieve the body and later handed it over to the police.
