PENAMPANG: State Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister, Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe, aims to see an industrialised Sabah by boosting the State’s manufacturing sector.
“Our manufacturing sector contribution to the Gross Domestic Product is only seven per cent. We cannot grow with only seven per cent, there is no way Sabah can develop.
“Compared to Penang’s 46 to 48 per cent and Selangor’s 30 per cent. Even our neighbour, Sarawak has 24 to 27 per cent, while ours has not achieved or exceeded 10 per cent,” he said when officiating the two-day Entrepreneur Camp closing ceremony, here, Sunday.
The Entrepreneur Camp was organised by Sabah Entrepreneurs Transformation V Creator in support of the Ministry, Sabah Credit Corporation and Universiti Malaysia Sabah, among others.
