Employees celebrate as boss gives stacks of RM50 duit raya, delighting staff and netizens with the generous gesture
FOR many working adults, receiving duit raya may have become a rare treat, as they are often the givers rather than the receivers. But the inner child in many still delights at the thought of getting fresh notes.
An employee known as @eyntsh_ shared on Threads that her boss asked in their office WhatsApp group if staff wanted duit raya, accompanied by a photo of him holding stacks of RM50 notes.
“Last night, the boss sent a photo to the office group and asked if we wanted duit raya. We thought it was a joke, but it turned out to be real. Thank you, boss!” she wrote.
In the picture, employees were seen fanning a stack of RM50 notes, each handed out in a yellow envelope.
Netizens were both shocked and delighted by such a thoughtful gesture from an employer who clearly values their staff.
Adam jokingly commented, “To all the staff, please resign as soon as possible, so I could replace you. Thank you.”
Feeling unlucky for not working at such a company, @nblhaqq wrote, “That’s great! My company is stingy. No bonuses at all. Oh well, I guess it’s just not my luck.”
Alyaa, now a housewife, shared her bundle of RM50 notes received from a previous employer, saying she misses the joy of getting duit raya.
Ayin asked if @eyntsh_ worked for content creator and entrepreneur Khairul Aming, noting that he is also known for giving large bonuses and perks.
Another user, who received a RM1,000 bonus for Chinese New Year last month, expressed hope for another round of bonuses for Raya.
