Bournemouth boss Scott Parker has handed trials to Alex Smithies.
A free agent from Cardiff City, the 32 year-old goalkeeper is training with the Cherries in Portugal.
Parker has also looked at former Everton keeper Jonas Lossl, wo has been trialling in preseason.
Smithies has also played for QPR and Huddersfield Town.
