Bournemouth caretaker boss Gary O'Neil insists he's in the dark over talk of the club's sale.

It emerged this morning American takeover interest has arrived for the Cherries.

O'Neil said, “Nothing at all. I'm not involved in any discussions like that. Takeover and discussions of that level are a long way from my mind.

"I haven't considered anything around takeovers, discussions upstairs, my position. Whatever that is, it is. I know it is going to be boring for you guys but I'm just fully focused. Literally every minute of my day is taken up by how we go about Newcastle."

He added, "Don't think two weeks or however long it's been, it's definitely not long enough to make a big mark on a football team. I'm really just trying to work with them on bits we think are important. I hope to see bits of that on the weekend that we saw in Wolves and Forest games.

"I don't expect huge changes in two/three weeks but also that's not the remit. My job is to get them ready for each game, we're looking forward to it."
