PASIR GUDANG - An 11-year old boy drowned while another boy aged 13 is missing after they fell into the Masai river near the Seri Intan apartment in Bandar Seri Alam, here, yesterday.
Pasir Gudang Fire and Rescue Department Operation Commander Assistant Superintendent Sarhan Akmal Mohamad said they received a distress call at 11.31pm.
“A total of 13 personnel from the Pasir Gudang Fire and Rescue Department and six personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department water rescue unit (PPDA) were rushed to the scene as early as 4.28am and they found a victim identified as Mohd Danish Ahmad, 11," he said.
“The victim was found at 5.06am around 50 metres away from the location he was reported to have fell.
“Medical officers confirmed that the victim had died. The body was handed over to the police for further action,” he said in a statement, today.
He said another victim, Zahir Akmal Mohd Idris, 13, was still missing and the search and rescue operation was still underway.
