PAPAR: A 13-year-old boy was rescued after his foot became trapped in a metal drain grate at Lorong Sabindoo, Kinarut, on Thursday morning.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said a team of six personnel, led by Officer Norazrin Suhairi from the Putatan fire station, rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 10.50am.
Upon arrival, the team used a Rescuetech Spreader to widen the gap before safely freeing the boy’s foot, which was trapped between the metal grating of a roadside drain.
The boy suffered no injuries, and the operation concluded at 11am after firefighters confirmed there were no further hazards.
