The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has arrested two Singaporean men in connection with a commotion and indecent behaviour.

In a statement, Johor Bahru Selatan District Police Chief ACP Raub Selamat explained that the first incident was reported on 21 December at around 5:20 PM on the first floor of a supermarket.

Another scuffle erupted at the police station compound

Meanwhile, the second incident took place on the same day at about 6:15 PM at the complaint counter of Larkin Police Station.

“The incident began with a dispute between the two suspects, aged 46 and 56, inside the shopping mall. The argument erupted when one suspect became upset after being reprimanded by the other suspect’s wife, who said she was nearly hit and had beer spilt on her. The disagreement escalated into a physical fight, requiring patrolling police officers to intervene,” he explained.

Raub said both suspects were subsequently taken to Larkin Police Station for further action. However, while one suspect was filing a police report, the other suddenly approached the complaint counter and launched an attack, sparking a scuffle within the police compound.

Both suspects sustained minor injuries

Raub added that the situation was quickly brought under control and resolved by the officers on duty.

“As a result, both suspects sustained minor injuries and were taken to Sultanah Aminah Hospital, Johor Bahru, for treatment. Urine tests on both suspects returned negative for drugs.”

The case is being investigated under Section 160 of the Penal Code. Both suspects have been remanded for two days, from 22 to 23 December, to assist with further investigations.

“The police take a firm stance against any form of violence, indecent behaviour, or public disturbance, especially within police station premises. Members of the public are advised to remain courteous, follow the law, and resolve disputes through proper channels.”
