Brentford boss Thomas Frank says a new contract has been offered to Mads Bech Sorensen.
The Dane's current deal expires in June.
Frank said, "Mads Bech was out on loan in Nice. It didn't quite go according to plan, neither on his part nor on ours. That's how it is sometimes, and now he's back with us.
"We had offered him an extension earlier. It is something that he thinks about. There is a fine balance between being permanent, a squad player and the future, so he thinks about that.
"We would like to continue the collaboration, but I can also see it from his side, where he wants more continuous minutes. So now we have to look at it."
