Phagwara: The Mehatpur police have arrested a man on the charge of selling heroin. Ten gram of heroin was recovered from the possession of the accused Gurjit Singh of Bute Dian Chhana village. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused. The Nakodar police arrested three persons, Sandeep Singh, Akash and Dhiraj, resident of Chitti village under Lambarra police station, with 17 intoxicating tablets. Meanwhile, the Bilga police arrested Buta Singh of Burj Hassan village with 74 intoxicating tablets. The Shahkot police arrested Bachitar Singh of Pati Haveli Malsian village with 32 intoxicating tablets. oc

2 booked for murder bid

Phagwara: The Shahkot police have booked two miscreants on the charges of attempt to murder and firing. The accused have been identified as Rajan and Jashan of Sandhawal Mand village. Manjit Kaur of Rampur village complained to the police that the accused barged into her house and fired with a pistol. A case under the BNS and the Arms Act has been registered. oc

Man booked for kidnapping

Phagwara: The Nakodar police have booked an unidentified person on the charge of kidnapping a girl. The father of the victim, a resident of Kutibal village under Lohian Khas police station, complained to the police that an unidentified person kidnapped his daughter on the pretext of marriage. A case has been registered and further investigations are on. oc

Man booked for seeking dowry

Phagwara: The Shahkot police have booked Paramjit Singh, a resident of Gore village under Kotwali police station, Kapurthala, in a dowry harassment case. Mandeep Kaur, wife of Paramjit Singh, a resident of Pati Shahla Nagar, Malsian village police station, had filed a complaint that her husband had been harassing her and demanding more dowry since her marriage. oc

bihar man electrocuted

Phagwara: A migrant was electrocuted on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Mausam Kumar, a native of Bihar, and presently living at Seham village. Saurav Devi wife of the deceased told the police that her husband was electrocuted. The police handed over the body to the family after post-mortem. oc
