Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey is set to choose Ghana as his national side.
The full-back was eligible to play for England as well, and represented the Three Lions at youth level.
However, the 21-year-old right-back wants to play for Ghana, and will now be going with his new international teammates to the World Cup in Qatar this winter.
According to The Argus, he has a Ghanian passport, and his move has been given the all-clear from FIFA.
Lamptey may have felt the competition for places with England at right-back meant the he would not play much for the national team in the coming years.
