RANAU: The Mount Kinabalu Search and Rescue Team (Mosar) had to rush to rescue
A 17-year-old girl who suffered from suspected hypothermia and acute mountain sickness.
The tourist from United Kingdom was safely brought down and taken to the Ranau Hospital where her condition was reportedly stable. The victim was placed in the EMRS vehicle before she was carried to the hospital
Ranau Fire and Rescue Services Department Chief, Ridwan Mohd Taib, said the incident happened at a Sick Bay Panarlaban around 1pm, on Sunday.

The three-men Mosar team was assisted by three mountain guides and five Kinabalu Park search and rescue rangers.
Ridwan said the Kinabalu Park rangers and guides had provided initial treatment by providing the girl with oxygen and also wrapping her with an emergency blanket to warm her up.
The rescue operations ended at 7.45pm.
According to Ridwan, the latest case was the second in July and the 28th victim of illness or injury on Mount Kinabalu so far this year.
He advised potential climbers to be well prepared mentally and physically before climbing, especially in light of the unpredictable weather on the mountain now.
