Brooklyn Beckham praises billionaire father-in-law in latest family snub

Brooklyn Peltz Beckham has publicly lauded his father-in-law, billionaire Nelson Peltz, as "the best" on his birthday, a gesture that comes amid an ongoing and highly publicised family dispute with his own parents, Sir David and Lady Victoria Beckham.

The 27-year-old has maintained a notable distance from his football star father and former Spice Girl mother, having made no public appearances with them nor acknowledged them on social media since an explosive statement he posted in January.

This silence was particularly evident when his celebrity parents shared family photographs, including their eldest son, in a Father’s Day tribute, to which Peltz Beckham offered no online response.

On Thursday, he took to Instagram Stories to celebrate his father-in-law, sharing a photograph of them together at a party. The accompanying caption read: "Happy birthday Nelson. I love you so much. I’m so happy I could celebrate you today! Thank you for being the best father-in-law."

Peltz Beckham married Nelson Peltz’s daughter, model Nicola Peltz, in 2022. Earlier this year, he issued a multi-page statement alleging that his parents had been "trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped".

He further claimed that his wife had been "disrespected" by his family, and accused his parents of manipulating press narratives and prioritising "Brand Beckham".

Lady Beckham addressed the rift for the first time in a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, stating that she and Sir David "love our children so much" and have "always tried to be the best parents".

Peltz Beckham, an amateur photographer, also made a veiled reference to the family tensions in a World Cup-themed advertisement for US food delivery firm DoorDash.

In the commercial, he remarked: "You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the Fifa World Cup 2026 from home. It’s not like I don’t have tickets. Um… it’s because… it’s a long story." He then hands tickets to a delivery driver, adding: "These can go to someone… else."
