MANILA, Philippines — Justin Brownlee and RJ Abarrientos formed Barangay Ginebra’s 1-2 scoring punch in a strong second half assault to pulverize Phoenix, 109-96 as the Gin Kings won back-to-back games in the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.
Brownlee dropped 21 of his 30 points in the second half, while Abarrientos scored 28, highlighted by seven triples as the Gin Kings improved to 4-2 overall.
Ginebra moved up to solo fourth spot at 4-2, while Phoenix lost its second straight to fall to an even 3-3 card.
James Dickey led Phoenix with a near triple-double effort of 21 points, 21 rebounds and nine assists, but he had seven turnovers.
Ken Tuffin added 18 while Jason Perkins 17 for the Fuel Masters. RICHARD DY
