
An hour-long cycle rally, organised here on Sunday by the Border Security Force (BSF), under the Fit India Movement – “Sunday on Cycle”, disseminated the message of the national campaign: “Fitness ki Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz” (A dose of fitness, half an hour daily).
The rally was organised by BSF station headquarter and the 55th Battalion BSF, as a special edition of “Sunday on Cycle”, with the objective of promoting physical fitness for a healthy lifestyle and community engagement.
The cycle rally was flagged off from the BSF camp, Abohar, by Sukumar Sarangi, DIG of SHQ BSF here. The rally then traversed through major routes of the city-including Bhagat Singh Chowk and concluded back at the camp.
As many as 129 participants, including Ajay Kumar Commandant, 55th Battalion BSF, 8 officers, 95 BSF personnel, 16 children of BSF personnel and 10 civilian cyclists from here served to showcase the force’s high standards of physical fitness, discipline and readiness.
Through this event, the BSF reiterated its commitment not only toward safeguarding the nation’s borders but also toward nation-building, public welfare and promoting fitness and a healthy lifestyle among citizens, particularly the youth.
This rally served to strengthen civil-force relations while simultaneously generating awareness regarding the importance of regular physical activity.
