Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has urged his players to stay calm over the injury suffered by Fabinho.

The midfielder won't be seen until 2020 due to an ankle injury suffered in the Champions League draw with Napoli.

And with defender Joel Matip already a long-term casualty, Klopp knows he will have to tread carefully through Liverpool 's toughest part of the schedule.

Klopp said: Now we have two defensive players in Joel and Fabinho with long-term injuries - it's not cool.

Fabinho, that's absolutely bad news, nothing good to say about that. The timeframe or how long it will take, we are not 100% sure yet.

It looks pretty sure he will not be involved in the Christmas fixtures. That takes a while.

But not in the case now 'oh my God, how can we deal with it?'. It's just 'let's do the right thing for Fab, let's do the right thing for the team' and let's carry on. Joel has a scan, then we will see what we do with the information."
