K-pop boy band BTS has won the Artist of the Year award at the 2026 American Music Awards.

The group comprising RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook took away three awards in total on Monday. The event took place in Las Vegas, according to the entertainment news outlet Variety.

It also marked the second time for the band to receive the Artist of the Year award. They first received it in 2021. Besides, the band also won Song of the Summer for ‘Swim’ and Best Male K-Pop artist.

Except for BTS, Sabrina Carpenter left with the three major awards, Album of the Year and Best Pop Album for “Man’s Best Friend" and Best Female Pop Artist.

Formed in 2010 by Bang Si-hyuk, BTS debuted in 2013, under Big Hit Entertainment. The band is known for tracks such as ‘Mikrokosmos’, ‘Butter’ and ‘Mic Drop’, among others. They are currently touring with the ‘Arirang’ World Tour, which features over 70 stops across Asia, North America, South America, Europe and Australia.

The tour will conclude on March 14, 2027, in the Philippines. It is also BTS’s first tour following their military service, which led to the hiatus between 2022 and 2025
