Budget 2027 will introduce several measures aimed at making PTPTN loan repayments more manageable for lower-income borrowers.

Those earning RM2,500 a month or below will be allowed to defer their loan repayments, easing the burden on borrowers with limited monthly income.

RM50 Minimum Repayment For Those Earning Up To RM3,000

Borrowers with a monthly income between RM2,501 and RM3,000 will only need to make a minimum repayment of RM50 per month.

The measure is aimed at ensuring borrowers can continue repaying their loans without putting too much pressure on their monthly expenses.

10% Discount For Consistent Repayers

PTPTN borrowers who make regular repayments without any outstanding arrears will also receive a 10% discount.

The incentive is intended to encourage borrowers to maintain consistent repayments while rewarding those with a good repayment record.

The new measures form part of Budget 2027’s efforts to make student loan repayments more flexible and manageable for Malaysians.
