Budget 2027 provides a RM150 monthly incentive for 500 KAFA teachers educating special needs pupils, including those using sign language and Braille Quran materials.

PETALING JAYA: The government will provide a monthly incentive of RM150 to 500 KAFA (Kelas Al-Quran dan Fardu Ain) teachers who educate pupils with special needs under Budget 2027.

Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the incentive would support teachers working with special needs pupils, including those using sign language and Braille Quran materials.

He also announced that the government, through Lembaga Tabung Haji, would fully cover Social Security Organisation (Socso) contributions for 40,000 religious personnel nationwide.

The coverage includes imams, bilals, tok siak, nojas, marbut and takmir teachers.
