SANDAKAN: Libaran MP Datuk Suhaimi Nasir said asking residents of the People’s Housing Project (PPR) in Sabah to vacate their houses after 10 years of renting is inappropriate and excessive.
He said the circular issued by the Housing and Urban Development Board (LPPB) dated June 19, 2023, which went viral since Tuesday, poses great burden to the tenants, the majority of whom are in the B40 group.
“By right, the LPPB should give a second chance to tenants who have been renting for more than 10 years, instead of acting cruel by ordering them to vacate while also settling all arrears to avoid the tenant’s name being blacklisted.
