Bukit Aman’s Khaw Kok Chin appointed as Penang’s new chief police officer

GEORGE TOWN – Bukit Aman’s Federal Internal Security and Public Order deputy director Datuk Khaw Kok Chin will be Penang’s new chief police officer (CPO) effective May 15.

Khaw had also served as the Johor deputy CPO before his posting to Bukit Aman last year, and was Nibong Tebal district police chief in 2006.

Penang’s current CPO Datuk Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain will be transferred to Kuala Lumpur after its CPO Datuk Azmi Abu Kassim was appointed as the new Bukit Aman Management Department director.

Azmi’s appointment is effective April 17.

Bernama reported PDRM secretary Datuk Noorsiah Saaduddin as saying that these senior officers are among 61 PDRM senior officers involved in a major transfer exercise nationwide, which will take effect on May 15. – The Vibes, April 14, 2023
