TAMBUNAN: Tambunan Assemblyman, Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan donated RM70,000 to seven Mukims for the Kaamatan Festival celebrations.
The District Officer, who is also the Chairman of the district-level Kaamatan Festival celebration, Sabitun Makajil, represented Jeffrey, who is also Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry, to present the contribution to the seven Mukims Developers who each received RM10,000.
The Mukim Developers were Angeline Edwin for mukim Monsorulung, Stepfine Lazarus (Nambayan), Larry Robert Okou (Lintuhun), Cyril Stephen (Toboh), Jaikoh Gabi (Sunsuron), Boniface George Mool (Patau) and Mohd Hajjaz Iqbal Yusof (Kirokot).
Sabitun thanked Jeffrey for financing the Kaamatan festival at the mukim level.
He is confident that this provision will enable all seven mukims to carry out their kaamatan festival successfully.
Sabitun said the Tambunan District Level Kaamatan Festival will be held on May 20 and he emphasised the importance of the Kaamatan Festival in fostering unity among the community.
