Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Umno Chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar is advised to follow the advice of party President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi so that good cooperation among the parties in the Unity Government in Sabah, in particular, can be guaranteed.

Malaysian People’s Power Movement (G57) Chairman Datuk Zulkarnain Mahdar said Bung and his supporters continued to provoke the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor to the point of disrupting the smooth administration of the State Government.

“Stop it for the sake of political stability in Sabah since Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) are also part of the Unity Government at the federal level,” he said in a statement.

Zahid, through a Facebook post after an Umno Supreme Council meeting at Menara Dato’ Onn World Trade Centre, stated that unity is the key when facing challenges.

“It clearly violates the provisions of the State law. The State Legislative Assembly has previously approved amendments to the Sabah Rural Administration Ordinance.

“The amendment now gives authority and autonomy to the Sabah Government to appoint and manage the administration of village committees such as the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK).

“This means the establishment of JPKKP in Sabah is clearly against the law,” he stressed.

He said GRS and PH Sabah themselves have objected to the establishment of JPKKP but Bung insisted by submitting appointment letters to representatives in every district in Sabah.

“Sooner or later this action will invite political instability at the grassroots level and it is even feared that it may cause fights because there will definitely be overlapping work at the village level,” he explained.
