Bunnie Xo says she and Jelly Roll are ‘still having a baby together’ amid divorce

Bunnie Xo has broken her silence days after her husband, Jelly Roll, filed for divorce, revealing that she still plans to have a child with him.

The musician, whose real name is Jason Bradly DeFord, reportedly filed on May 18 in Williamson County, Tennessee, according to court records viewed by multiple outlets.

On Thursday’s episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast, Bunnie Xo, real name Alisa DeFord, said: “We're literally settling our divorce in like... We've done it in like, what? Three weeks? Two weeks?

“We're still having a baby together,” she added.

“So, we have been the most unconventional couple that you guys have ever encountered. We're going to co-parent together. J is my best friend. Like, this isn't what you guys think this is. Nobody cheated on the other person. It's literally just we served our purpose for each other.”

She added that their “future is so much more important and being happy and healthy and best friends through this is probably the biggest gift that we could have given each other.”

Bunnie, 46, also opened up about the couple’s fertility journey during the podcast episode, sharing that they were both on hormones to try to conceive.

“It wrecked me emotionally, spiritually, physically. In a way, I kind of think J and I are trauma-bonded,” she said.

In her memoir Stripped Down, published in February, Bunnie revealed that she and Jelly Roll had found a surrogate and were preparing to begin the IVF process, with Bunnie writing that she expected to start hormone stimulation treatments "soon."

The podcast episode comes after Bunnie’s cryptic social media post following the divorce news.

She appeared to acknowledge the split on Instagram as she posted a video of herself lip-syncing to Nickelback’s hit song “How You Remind Me”, specifically the lines: “It’s not like you didn’t know that/ I said I love you and I swear I still do/ And it must have been so bad/ ‘Cos living with me must have damn-near killed you/ And this is how you remind me.”

She also shared a photo of herself in lingerie, soundtracked by Metric’s song “Help I’m Alive” and the caption: “She’s getting her sparkle back.”

Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo married in 2016

Jelly Roll met Bunnie more than 10 years ago when he was performing at the Country Saloon in Las Vegas in 2015. After dating for a year, he proposed to Bunnie while on stage in Las Vegas; they tied the knot in secret later that evening, at an intimate courthouse ceremony. They renewed their vows in 2023.

Bunnie addressed a tumultuous period in their marriage in her 2026 memoir, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, in which she said Jelly had cheated on her for 10 months in 2018.

“A lot of people are like, ‘Why didn’t you leave?’ And I’m like, ‘I did leave.’ I did leave him and we were split for about 30 days,” she told People earlier this year.

“But I just loved that man so much that I just really, truly believe that he deserved a second chance.”
