Bureau of Customs sells four Maseratis for P7M

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has accepted offers totaling ₱7.05 million for four Maserati Levante luxury sports utility vehicles (SUVs), but the sale still needs the approval of the Department of Finance (DOF) before the transaction can be finalized.

Fast Car Traders Corp. submitted offers for two 2021 Maserati Levante Modena units and two 2021 Maserati Levante GT Hybrid vehicles, the BOC said on Saturday.

The two Modena SUVs drew offers of ₱1.594 million and ₱1.601 million, while the two GT Hybrid units fetched ₱1.930 million each. The combined accepted offers reached ₱7,055,664.

Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said the government must ensure that the disposal of vehicles under BOC custody follows proper procedures, protects public funds and delivers value to taxpayers.

“Our goal is to ensure that vehicles under BOC custody benefit the government through legal and transparent means,” Nepomuceno said.

The BOC said the negotiated sale forms part of its Integrity, Accountability, and Modernization agenda, which promotes transparency and responsible management of government assets.

The Maserati sale follows other efforts by the BOC to convert abandoned and forfeited assets into government revenue.
