BURGER King Malaysia is rolling out a limited-time menu inspired by the anime series "Dragon Ball Super", in collaboration with Japanese animation studio Toei Animation.
The collaboration launches at participating restaurants from Sept 7, while stocks last and includes exclusive collectible figurines and themed meals.
Burger King Malaysia Head of Marketing Leong Huey Ying said the "Dragon Ball Super" is not simply an anime series, as it is a major part of the Dragon Ball franchise.
"It is a global phenomenon that has inspired generations of fans through its iconic characters, high-energy storytelling and spirit of self-mastery.
"With this collaboration, we're giving our guests in Malaysia a new way to power up their Burger King experience with exclusive collectibles and immersive restaurant moments that bring 'Dragon Ball Super' to life."
Fans can collect one of six character figurines — Goku, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku, Vegeta, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Vegeta, Piccolo and Beerus — alongside a "Dragon Ball Super" themed King Jr.® meal aimed at younger customers.
The King Jr meal comes in three variations: four-piece Nuggets with fries and Minute Maid, Chick N Crisp with fries and Minute Maid, or a Cheeseburger with fries and Minute Maid. Each set includes a themed crown and one of the six collectible figurines.
Aside from that, five Burger King outlets across Malaysia will be transformed into immersive "Dragon Ball Super" experiences, featuring themed exterior graphics, character artwork and lighting.
The outlets are the ones in Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur; Sunway Pyramid, Selangor; Botani Village, Perak; Limbongan, Melaka and Lukut, Negeri Sembilan.
The themed menu will be available in-restaurant, at drive-thrus and through participating digital channels. Prices for the King Jr.® meal sets start from RM13.50 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM15.50 in East Malaysia.
"Dragon Ball Super" is the fifth instalment in the Dragon Ball franchise created by Akira Toriyama and first premiered in 2015 — the franchise's first new storyline in more than 18 years.
The most recent film in the series, "Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero", was released in 2022.
