Burnley boss Vincent Kompany was delighted after their 5-0 rout of Sheffield United.

It marked a first win of the season for the Clarets.

"It feels so good. We were desperate to do it today as well and you could see it from the start, how much the lads wanted it.

"The lads were raring to go today, I think you could have blown the whistle 45 minutes earlier and we would have been ready for it. I have seen a lot of frustration and anger today taken out on the performance.

"We played well against West Ham, we played well against Crystal Palace and we always believed it was coming and today it did.

"I just hope it's a starting point for us now. I have been sat here a few times after a game and I haven't been able to fault the performances and today they were outstanding."

Kompany added: "Lots of goal scorers on the team sheet today which is always a positive for us.

"Jay scoring early on was great. These things happen sometimes in football and it's actually quite good we lost the coin toss which meant we kicked off and got it going."

"Also, I'm really happy for the clean sheet we got today. The Premier League is very unforgiving and it's very tough to keep one (cleansheet).

"But doing this is good for the team, good for the goalkeeper, good for the defence and I'm pleased for them all on that aspect."
