As the maiden flight takes off on Monday from the newly inaugurated Jewar Airport, marking the formal start of commercial flight operations, the Delhi Government is working on a plan to provide direct connectivity from the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) and New Delhi Railway Station.
According to officials in the Transport Department, the Delhi–Jewar route is among several inter-state routes currently being planned by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC).
Once finalised, the route will provide seamless direct connectivity for flyers arriving from northern states via the ISBT, as well as passengers travelling from other states through New Delhi Railway Station.
As part of its current expansion plans, the DTC is scaling up its intercity operations into a multi-city network, including the launch of direct bus services from Delhi to Baraut in Uttar Pradesh, and Sonepat, Dharuhera and Panipat in Haryana.
Meanwhile, the Transport Department’s expansion pipeline also includes routes to Rewari, Karnal, Rohtak, Alwar and Jewar.
