Borussia Dortmund chief Sebastian Kehl says they cannot afford to sign Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
It was suggested BVB were offered Ronaldo last week.
But Kehl says: "Cristiano Ronaldo will not move to Borussia Dortmund.
"That's how things are. There was no contact. He is without a doubt a fantastic player, a world-class footballer. But when you say that he has yet to play in the Bundesliga, that's not our problem.
"I wouldn't rule out doing another operation in the transfer market, but I just say that we can't do crazy things anymore."
