Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus believes he has developed as a player over the last 12 months.

Gabriel won the Premier League title and Copa America this past season.

He was criticised for his performances in a limp World Cup for Brazil and then saw his opportunities at the Etihad limited by the terrific form of Sergio Aguero .

Having dealt with those challenges, the forward sees improvement in his game.

I don't see this as a recovery," he told reporters. I learned since the World Cup, I came mentally better, I worked a lot at City.

"In the beginning, it was a bit complicated but with the help of my family, friends and colleagues, I could focus again on my football."
