Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus has apologised for his outburst after being sent-off in the Copa America final on Sunday.

Brazil claimed their first Copa trophy in 12 years with a 3-1 victory over Peru in Rio Di Janiero.

Jesus played a large part in the victory, scoring and assisting, before being shown a second yellow card with time running down.

He then proceeded to punch the VAR monitor and break down in tears in the tunnel.

Speaking after the game, he said: "I want to apologise.

"I could have avoided it and I also need to grow up a lot."
