Rangers fullback James Tavernier remains a target for Newcastle United.
The Daily Mail says Rangers are reluctant to lose the goalscoring right back but may have to consider offers around 8million for the 27-year-old.
Newcastle have also checked on a potential return for free agent Andy Carroll.
However, the former West Ham striker is not expected to be fully fit until November as he recovers following ankle surgery.
