Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced a reshaped Cabinet, introducing changes across several ministries while retaining continuity in core leadership positions. The new line-up, comprising 28 ministers supported by their respective deputy ministers, reflects the government’s effort to strengthen governance, coordination, and policy delivery amid ongoing economic and institutional reforms.

Anwar continues to hold the dual role of Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, underscoring the administration’s focus on fiscal discipline and economic management. Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi remains Deputy Prime Minister I, while Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof continues as Deputy Prime Minister II, both retaining additional ministerial responsibilities in rural development and energy transition respectively.

Within the Prime Minister’s Department, several key portfolios have been reaffirmed. Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said oversees law and institutional reform, while Hannah Yeoh Tseow Suan takes charge of federal territories. Sabah and Sarawak affairs remain under Datuk TS Mustapha Sakmud, and religious affairs continue to be managed by Datuk Zulkifli Hasan. These appointments signal a continued emphasis on legal reform, regional balance, and interfaith harmony.

Economic and development-related ministries also feature prominently in the reshuffle. Investment, trade and industry is led by Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, while Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir heads the economy portfolio. Digital transformation remains under Gobind Singh Deo, reflecting the government’s commitment to technology-driven growth. Steven Sim Chee Keong assumes responsibility for entrepreneur development and cooperatives, supporting small businesses and start-ups.

Social sector ministries retain experienced leadership. Education remains under Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek, with higher education overseen by Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir. Health continues under Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahmad, while national unity is led by Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang. Women, family and community development stays with Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, reinforcing continuity in social protection policies.

Security and infrastructure portfolios also remain stable. Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail heads home affairs, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin oversees defence, and Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan continues as foreign minister. Transport remains under Anthony Loke Siew Fook, works under Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, and housing and local government under Nga Kor Ming.

Other ministries include agriculture and food security led by Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, human resources under Datuk Seri Ramanan Ramakrishnan, youth and sports under Datuk Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari, and science, technology and innovation under Chang Lih Kang. Tourism, communications, domestic trade, environment, plantations, and natural resources portfolios also see continuity with appointed deputies supporting implementation.

The new Cabinet composition signals a balance between experience and renewal, as the government moves forward with its reform agenda while maintaining administrative stability across critical sectors.
