Hidden not far away from the city of Malaysia, you are able to find a change of scenery at Ekeus Cabin Café in Putrajaya. Located next to the equestrian stables, it’s not your typical urban café but a cabin-style space surrounded by a field and greenery.

Environment

The environment is peaceful and casual, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. The café’s rustic charm and open-air setup make it ideal for unwinding, especially during the cooler hours of the day. While it’s not the most study-friendly space, I’ve seen one or two customers getting casual work done indoors with a view. There’s an equestrian stable beside the cabin which offers horseback riding for a reasonable price, making this a family-friendly destination or a unique hangout spot with friends or loved ones.

Food

As for the food, it’s a mix of hits and misses. The Beefy Croissant (RM19.50) had a promise but fell short - the beef was a little dry, though their cafe’s signature sauce helped it. The Grilled Chicken Sourdough (RM25) was more enjoyable. The chicken was tender, well-seasoned and was perfect paired with their delicious ranch sauce. The Iced Caramel Latte (RM15), which supposedly one their best selling drinks, was a big no. It was lacking in depth, and the caramel was overpowering that it didn’t carry out the richness you’d expect from a good coffee. If you're particular about your coffee, this might not be the drink for you.

Accessibility

There’s ample outdoor parking at RM2 per entry which makes the trip convenient for larger groups or weekend dates.

Verdict

While the food and drink is not particularly impressive, this café offers a refreshing change of pace from the city that is not too far. If you’re looking for a countryside-like spot where you can enjoy nature, grab a bite, and even try horseback riding all in one place, Ekeus Cabin Café might just be worth the visit.
