The uncertainty around LIV Golf continues, with Caleb Surratt among the players somewhat in the dark about what the future holds.
There will be no funding from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund beyond the 2026 season, placing the tour’s future in doubt.
The likes of Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson among others have already discussed their futures amid the uncertainties, with Surratt now offering his stance on the current situation.
The 22-year-old American joined Legion XIII on LIV Golf in 2024, having enjoyed a standout freshman season at Tennessee.
Caleb Surratt hasn’t reached out about a PGA Tour pathway
When asked if he has any idea if a potential pathway to the PGA Tour was to come for him, Surratt said on 5 Clubs: “I honestly do not. I would tell you if I did.
“But right now my goal is to gain status on the DP World Tour for next year, regardless of if LIV is going great or if it’s struggling.
“It does not matter, I want to be able to play out here and out here with LIV regardless of where I’m playing next year I’d love to have some status next year.
“That is my goal but I can say that I have not reached out or anything. I am happy with where I am at, I am very confident in LIV moving forward to be honest.
“It’s all out of my control though, and we will have to cross that bridge when we get there if we have to.
“I am trying to get better and the old saying is good golf takes care of everything, so that is all I am trying to do.”

Caleb Surratt praises Scott O’Neil amid LIV Golf uncertainty
Surratt currently finds himself 32nd in the 2026 individual standings, while Legion XIII are third in the team standings.
He is certainly in great company and can learn a lot from his teammates, who comprise Tyrrell Hatton, Tom McKibbin and captain Jon Rahm.
Much of the focus amid the uncertainty surrounding LIV Golf has been on the Spaniard, and indeed his fellow superstar Bryson DeChambeau.
Sharing if he actively pursues updates about what the future holds, Surratt said: “I genuinely choose not to worry about it.
“In the end I am not in control of anything. I do know that Scott [O’Neil] is an amazing guy to have in charge of everything going on.
“I have confidence that everything is going to be alright, but my job is just to continue to work hard and seek every opportunity I can whenever and wherever I can and take advantage of everything that is coming my way, and try and play as well as possible.
“I try not to worry about it, but it’s certainly uncertain times. I think that was to be expected, so I’m pretty confident moving forward.”
While there is uncertainty for Surratt, there is a lot to be excited about, primarily the first major start of his career.
He has just qualified for next month’s US Open at Shinnecock Hills, earning his spot after a six-man playoff at Dallas Athletic Club.
His fellow LIV Golf players Peter Uihlein and Graeme McDowell, who won the US Open in 2010, joined him in qualifying for the major.
