KENINGAU: A security post should be set up at the Bingkor Health Clinic to ensure a permanent guard presence and protect the premises following recent acts of vandalism, says Haji Yazid Haji Mohd Hasnan Tawik @ Charles, Chairman of the Bingkor Community Welfare Association.
He said the time has come to deter irresponsible individuals from damaging public property, particularly critical government facilities.
The incident in question involved the vandalism of the clinic’s signboard and the National Emblem, which was forcibly removed and broken.
“This should never have happened, especially at a government facility that provides healthcare services to the public. Such acts are not only crimes but also insult our national symbols and tarnish the image of the local community,” Haji Yazid said.
Haji Yazid, who also serves as Deputy President of the Kujau Gana Nabai Sabah Cultural and Welfare Association (KGNS), urged the Ministry of Health to act swiftly by assigning security personnel and installing CCTV cameras at the clinic.
He also called for firm action against the perpetrators to prevent future incidents and urged the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
