Callum Wilson enjoyed a pay-rise at Newcastle United over the summer.
Chronicle Live says Wilson has triggered an improved deal in his Newcastle contract - after a clause was activated from the arrangement he originally signed in 2020.
The star striker was always contracted to the club until 2024 but the clause in his deal brought Wilson and Newcastle back into discussions. Wilson has scored 23 goals in 43 Premier League starts for the Magpies since arriving from AFC Bournemouth for £20million.
The new deal brings him closer to Newcastle's top earners and will offer incentives to extend the deal beyond 2024.
Wilson has three goals in four games and is fighting for a place at the World Cup with England with Gareth Southgate yet to decide his 26-man squad.
