THE Department of Health (DOH) has recognized the Caloocan City government as the first and only local government unit (LGU) in the National Capital Region (NCR) to pass the Healthy Workplace Validation.
Interviewed by The Manila Times via Viber, Mayor Dale Gonzalo Malapitan was quick to give much of the credit to the hardworking and competent personnel, particularly the City Health Department (CHD) and its employees, medical personnel and health workers.
Malapitan said that the DOH based its recognition on “our implementation of programs and activities that promote physical, mental and environmental health, while also steering our employees away from risks and harmful vices.” “The health and well-being of our employees will continue to be a top priority, as they are our trusted partners in safeguarding the welfare of our citizens and the city at large,” Malapitan added.
According to DOH, the citation affirms that the city government has diligently safeguarded the health and welfare of its employees and has successfully implemented essential criteria for a healthy workplace.
The DOH said these are environmental health, immunization, substance abuse prevention, mental health, sexual and reproductive health, and violence and injury protection.
