Caloocan firms open to employing PWDs

THE Caloocan City government said on Tuesday that more private firms and commercial establishments have responded to its call to open employment opportunities for persons with disabilities (PWDs).

Mayor Dale Gonzalo Malapitan said he signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with several companies and establishments, including the WSK Group of Companies, Big Brew Food and Beverage House, Eskina, Fruitas Holdings, and Table Group Inc., among others.

He told The Manila Times via Viber that the call for the participation of the private sector was part of the local government’s initiative called Project Ability and Mobility, which was designed primarily to expand employment opportunities for PWDs.

The partnership is part of the city’s continuing efforts to ensure that every citizen has access to opportunities for meaningful employment, the city mayor said.

Through the program, qualified PWDs will be connected with employers and will be provided with greater access to jobs that recognize their skills, Malapitan said.

He emphasized that the city government is focused on creating equal opportunities for all residents and that every individual deserves the chance to contribute to the community.

“We believe in the competence and ability of our constituents, and we are committed to ensuring that under our leadership, they receive equal rights, opportunities, and value,” he said.
