Do you feel all charged and raring to go one day and dull or bored the next? Your mood may be influenced by the changing lunar positions. According to astrology, different moon phases can affect the emotions of the zodiac signs.
Cultures and civilisations around the globe — including Roman, Wiccan, Pagan, Mayan and Egyptian — have ascertained a lot of power to Luna (moon in Latin) and its transformational effects on living beings. The moon’s cyclical motion around the Earth affects the ebb and flow of the tides. In astrology, this is symbolised by the emotional highs and lows that the zodiacs experience regularly.
As such, there are eight lunar phases: new moon, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, third quarter and waning crescent. Experts believe that natives from all zodiacs can utilise every phase in this 29.5-day long cycle for good luck, health, money and love.
Every moon phase and its effects on zodiac signs

New moon
The new moon signals a new beginning and the end of toxic cycles for the natives from all the zodiac signs. One may feel inspired to start a new project, activity or take up a hobby. This is a good time to ideate as it allows creativity to soar.
Air signs (Gemini, Libra and Aquarius) may feel motivated and full of positive energy during the new moon phase.
Waxing crescent
Zodiac signs tend to feel more active and ambitious during the lunar phase of the waxing crescent. While all the signs are positively affected during this time, fire signs (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius) are at their most productive.
Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces) may feel more emotional than usual and prone to taking a big step in their personal relationships.
First quarter

This is a testing time for all the natives because the first quarter of the lunar calendar ushers in numerous challenges on diverse fronts. Zodiacs may feel exhausted and bogged down with responsibility. Signs of cardinal modality, including Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, may want to push back and be defiant in their personal and professional lives. They may also be determined to seek balance and stability.
Waxing gibbous
All the zodiac signs are at their most stable emotional selves during this time. The moon’s increasing luminosity during its waxing gibbous phase leaves the zodiacs feeling optimistic and satisfied. The mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces are most affected during this time. They exude confidence and are calm in their disposition.
Full moon

The most powerful of all the phases, the full moon is the time to manifest exponential growth and success, according to astrology. This phase is also associated with celebration, abundance and happiness for all the signs. The earth signs (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn) are hugely affected by the full moon phase as they might feel more excited than usual.
Waning gibbous
With its diminishing luminosity, this moon phase calls for introspection for all the signs. With the communication sector affected, natives may feel the need to give and receive feedback and be more expressive.
During this period, air signs are in their natural element and feel centred, but the fire signs might want to pause and reevaluate before jumping to any conclusion.
Third quarter
Also known as the last quarter, this is one of the most challenging phases for the zodiacs because it stresses the importance of letting go. Being of fixed modality, the zodiac signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius face trouble moving on. This phase forces them to face past issues and finally resolve them.
Waning crescent

This phase affects all the zodiac signs neutrally and uniformly. The signs feel more relaxed and at ease during this time. As such, this is a good time to introspect on past actions before strategising new goals.
So, how do we harness the different lunar phases?
Astrology recommends zodiac signs to align their behaviour according to the current moon phase to harness its magic. From new moon to full moon, individuals could use the lunar cycle as a guide to manifest, heal, set goals and let go to attain ultimate peace and happiness in life.
