Candidates contesting for the mayoral seat and councillors’ post campaigned door-to-door to woo voters on Saturday. Around 2.96 lakh voters will decide the fate of 98 candidates for 22 wards on Sunday. The voting will be held in 264 booths. The candidates held small meetings with their supporters today. BJP’s mayoral candidate Rajiv Jain campaigned with his supporters and urged people to vote for the BJP for the overall development of the city.

State BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli, MLA Nikhil Madaan, BJP district president Ashok Bhardwaj, former Cabinet minister Kavita Jain, and other party leaders also held campaigns in support of party candidates. BJP’s councillor candidates also wooed voters.

Congress mayoral candidate Kamal Diwan and councillor candidates also held door-to-door campaigns in various colonies and wards and appealed to the voters to support the Congress for a new model of development.

Police conduct flag march

A day before the polling for the municipal corporation elections, the police conducted a flag march on Saturday to maintain law and order in the area.
