Canon Malaysia Adds Quek Shio Chuan And Razaisyam Rashid To EOS Filmmaker Programme 2026

Canon Malaysia has announced the addition of filmmakers Quek Shio Chuan and Razaisyam Rashid to its EOS Filmmaker Programme 2026, bringing the total number of program members from three to five. The latest additions “strengthens Canon’s engagement with Malaysia’s filmmaking community and underscores the company’s ambition to play a larger role in shaping the future of visual storytelling,” it said in its press release.

Canon EOS Filmmaker Programme 2026 Welcomes Two New Additions

A quick background on the latest additions: Penang-born Quek Shio Chuan is known for his work across commercial and creative productions, with a focus on cinematic visual storytelling; his highlighted works include Guang (2018), which is critically acclaimed for exploring the subject of autism and has won multiple accolades Malaysian Film Festival. His other works include Netflix release The Ghost Bride (2020), as well as Nisha (2025), which topped China’s box office.

Meanwhile, Kelantanese Razaisyam Rashid is recognized for his versatility across multiple formats and his approach to authentic narrative filmmaking. He was involved in titles such as CEO (2014), Pusaka (2019), and the acclaimed series Mandatori (2017). He has won Best Director awards at Anugerah Skrin (2016) and Anugerah Telenovela (2018), and his more recent works includes Kahar: Kapla High Council (2024) and Tarung: Unforgiven (2026). 

“The addition of Quek Shio Chuan and Razaisyam Rashid to our EOS Filmmaker Programme reflects our continued support in nurturing creative talent and advancing the professional video segment,” said Edward Chang, Head of Image Communication Business Division, Canon Marketing Malaysia.

The EOS Filmmaker Programme is designed to facilitate collaboration between Canon and industry professionals, encourage knowledge-sharing within the creative community, and demonstrate how Canon’s imaging tools are used in professional productions. “As Canon continues to expand its portfolio of video-centric solutions, the company remains dedicated to enabling creators to transform ideas into impactful visual stories that connect with audiences everywhere,” the company concludes in its press release.
