
- Car manufacturer Range Rover has launched its first fully electric vehicle, named the Range Rover Electric, with a starting price of £154,070.
- The new model is being manufactured at JLR's Solihull plant in the West Midlands following a major site transformation.
- About 9,000 Solihull workers and 1,500 employees across the West Midlands have been upskilled for electrification.
- JLR's Wolverhampton facility is now producing battery packs and electric drive units alongside internal combustion engines.
- Managing director Martin Limpert said the model represents a decade of engineering to set a new benchmark for luxury SUVs.
