Cara Delevingne confirms romance with Amber Heard amid Johnny Depp divorce: ‘She was also entangled with other people’

Cara Delevingne has confirmed after years of speculation that she was romantically involved with Amber Heard while the actor was going through her divorce from Johnny Depp.

Depp and Heard were married from February 2015 to May 2016, after which the pair were involved in a series of lengthy, high-profile legal battles.

Depp lost a libel action against The Sun over claims that he had assaulted Heard, and won a defamation action against Heard in relation to claims by Heard that he had physically and sexually assaulted her.

Delevingne was dragged into the legal furore over Depp and Heard’s relationship after it was rumoured that the model and actor had had an “affair” with Heard, with the model now finally opening up about the experience in a new episode of The Louis Theroux Podcast.

During the interview, Theroux asked Delevingne if she would speak about “the Johnny Depp thing”, saying that Depp had been “driven crazy by the idea that Amber might be sleeping with you”, to which Delevingne replied: “Am I meant to comment?”

The model then explained that she and Heard had been working together on the critically panned movie London Fields, which Depp also had an uncredited cameo in.

“I think he was pretty driven crazy by jealousy. Nothing was happening at that point. Later, after they divorced, it had, I suppose… No, I don’t suppose. I know.”

Asked whether she and Heard had an “entanglement”, Delevingne explained: “We were close for a long time, and then when they were going through the divorce, yeah, we were entangled, I suppose. But she was also entangled with other people.”

British model Delevingne spent years in the closet, and only publicly confirmed that she is a lesbian in May, where she said at Rosalia's London concert: “If you don’t know this already, I’m a lesbian, and my weakness used to be straight women."

Weeks later, she opened up about her sexuality on the podcast Call Her Daddy, saying: “I discovered more about my sexuality through sleeping with my friends because there was a safety in that.”

On remaining closeted while modelling for underwear line Victoria's Secret, she explained: “I was in the closet, I was gay, I was also like, am I the only lesbian that’s ever done f***ing Victoria’s Secret? Like this is a big deal. I was having a great time, but also very confused. I felt like I was an undercover lesbian.”
