MANILA, Philippines — Filipino cue artist Carlo Biado shoots for his first world 8-ball title at the Yalin WPA Men’s 8-Ball World Championship.

The tournament will run from April 2 to 8 at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch in St. Louis, Missouri in the United States.

The tournament offers a $300,000 prize fund, including $90,000 or P5.4 million for the champion.

An 8-ball championship is the only major title missing in Biado's decorated career.

The 42-year-old already has two world 9-ball titles (2017, 2025) and a 10-ball championship (2024).

It won't be easy for Biado in Missouri, though.

Blue-chip players Fedor Gorst of the United States, Aloysius Yapp of Singapore, and Jayson Shaw of Scotland are competing, to name a few.

The Philippines won't have a shortage of representation in the tournament, too.

Lee Van Corteza, Roberto Gomez, Sean Mark Malayan, and Jeffrey De Luna are listed in the 96-player field.
