MANILA, Philippines — Carlos Yulo delivered the second gold medal for the Philippines in just less than 24 hours.
The two-time Olympic gold medalist dominated the men’s vault and gave the audience a complete deja vu after scoring 14.599 points, upping his difficulty to 5.6 points, surprising his opponents with a double pike, half turn, and a small hop.
Yulo, who slipped during the vault preliminaries, turned things around and proved why he's the reigning vault king in the Olympics.
He won his first gold here in floor exercise Thursday afternoon.
