The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0 in game six of the Stanley Cup Final on Sunday to clinch their second NHL title.

With the win, the Hurricanes claimed their fourth victory in the best-of-seven series.

Their first title came in 2006, when coach Rod Brind'Armour was team captain.

"I'm so happy for these guys. It just means so much to see how happy these guys are. It's sticking with it, we knew what we had here. It's such a great story with this team, I'm just really proud," Brind'Amour told ESPN.

The Hurricanes defeated the Ottawa Senators, Philadelphia Flyers and Montreal Canadiens to advance to the final after finishing as the number one seed in the Eastern Conference.

"It's special, it's been a special year. It's been an honor to be able to do it with this group, everyone deserves it so much," rookie goaltender Brandon Bussi told ESPN.
