Owner of a plastic factory at Bihari Chowk, Jugiana, which was gutted in a fire on Friday, had to run from pillar to post to get a case registered against the identified miscreants on Monday. He was not heard till he approached a senior official with his complaint. An Fir was finally registered at Sahnewal police station after his intervention.

The owner, Abhishek Garg of Millerganj, alleged that his factory had been set ablaze by some identified persons, who had committed theft in his factory a month back and against whom he had filed a complaint with the Sahnewal police. He pegged the total loss at over Rs 2 crore.

Investigating Officer Karnail Singh said the matter was under investigation. “Now that the facts have been verified the case has been registered,” he added.
