Cash Queens (French title: Les Lionnes), Netflix’s latest crime comedy drama, takes viewers on a wild ride. From high-stakes heists to jaw-dropping twists, the series has it all. If you, too, have questions about Rosalie’s fate after that explosive finale, this Cash Queens ending explained piece has all the answers.
Created by Olivier Rosemberg and Carine Prévot, the crime drama series follows five women: Rosalie, an ordinary bank employee (played by Rebecca Marder); her cousin Alex (played by Tya Deslauriers); and her friends Sofia (played by Naidra Ayadi), Kim (played by Zoé Marchal) and Chloé (played by Pascale Arbillot), who is married to the politician and mayor Michel Marionnaud (played by François Damiens).
Each of them is, in their own way, desperate to change their life. Rosalie, Alex, Sofia and Kim are frustrated with their day-to-day realities, worn down by the constant lack of money. Chloé, meanwhile, may be wealthy, but she wants a fresh start of her own, trapped in an unloving marriage to her controlling husband.
To escape their unfulfilling lives, the five women hatch a daring plan to rob the bank where Rosalie works. But, of course, what starts as a one-off attempt soon spirals into a series of heists involving the notorious mob boss Ezechiel (played by Olivier Rosemberg) and police officer Malik (played by Sami Outalbali), who also happens to be Sofia’s brother.
The finale takes viewers on a whirlwind ride as Michel teams up with Ezechiel to track down the robbers and restore public faith in him ahead of the mayor’s reinstatement ceremony. Ezechiel, who knows the women’s true identities, agrees to help — on the condition that Michel lets the gangster continue his drug-dealing operation in the city without interference.
Ezechiel then steals the money Rosalie and her friends had taken earlier, and blackmails them into helping him steal cocaine from a van. The women, however, devise a plan of their own. They reach out to women across their community, inspiring them to rise up against both Ezechiel and Michel.
While the mayor wants the robbers captured, Ezechiel wants to turn them in only after his work is done. As for Rosalie and her team? They want to pin the robberies on Michel and teach Ezechiel a lesson.
So, who deceives whom in the end? Keep reading this Cash Queens (Les Lionnes) ending explained article to find out.

Cash Queens (Les Lionnes) ending explained: Do the police catch the robbers?

Sticking to Ezechiel’s plan, Rosalie and her friends dress up in the robbers’ outfits one last time. They travel in an ambulance before arriving at the port, where the van carrying the cocaine is parked. Malik’s team, tipped off about the heist by Michel, also arrives at the scene. Gunfire breaks out, and the group jumps into the van and drives off. After a dramatic chase, Malik catches up with them, but when he pulls off the cap and glasses of one of the robbers, he finds himself face-to-face with his own mother.
It turns out Rosalie and her gang had set their plan in motion long before they reached the port.
They had found a van that looked identical to the one Ezechiel wanted them to rob. The five friends then recruited Malik’s mother and several other women from the community to steal their money back from Ezechiel’s men. The women then headed to the port and drew the police into chasing them, rather than the van carrying the cocaine. In the midst of the chaos and gunfire, Rosalie and her team slipped away with the real van containing the cocaine.
Malik’s mother then lies to her son, claiming it was Ezechiel and the mayor who forced them to carry out the heists, promising better living conditions if they helped the pair move the stolen money.

What happens to Michel?
Although the mayor wins the election, his happiness is short-lived when the Fraud Department turns up at his doorstep and arrests him as the alleged mastermind behind the bank robberies.
It’s revealed that the call to the department was made by none other than Chloé herself. The officials tell Michel they’ve found receipts for payments made in his name, linked to cash stolen from the bank. When Michel questions Chloé in front of them, she feigns surprise and claims it was he who told her to spend the money as quickly as possible, prompting the officials to take him away.
What happens in the final moments?
In a dramatic turn of events, it’s revealed that Alex was one of the people shot at the port, but she kept it from the others. This discovery derails the group’s plan, which had been to flee to Portugal after burning Ezechiel’s cocaine shipment.
In the crime comedy drama’s final moments, Kim decides to take a badly injured Alex to a hospital, urging Rosalie and Sofia to go on to Portugal without her.
After setting fire to Ezechiel’s shipment, Rosalie and Sofia drive off in their cars, while Alex rides with Kim. The three vehicles soon reach a police checkpoint, and when Alex starts acting suspiciously, the police begin chasing them again.
Malik receives a call about the pursuit while he’s at the mayor’s residence. Realising her friends are about to be caught, Chloé persuades Malik, who is both a police officer and her secret lover, to take her with him.
A high-stakes chase follows. Just as Malik’s car is about to catch up with Kim’s, Chloé grabs the steering wheel and yanks it around, causing the vehicle to flip.
Meanwhile, the other police cars continue pursuing Kim. In that moment, Rosalie makes the ultimate sacrifice. She slams on the brakes in the middle of the road just after Kim and Sofia’s cars have passed, blocking the police and buying them time.
The series ends with Rosalie’s shocking surrender, without revealing what happens to Alex, Chloé or Malik.
