Former Italy striker Antonio Cassano has slammed Juventus for letting Arthur Melo to leave for Liverpool.
The Reds on deadline completed a loan move for the Brazilian, who will spend the remainder of the 2022/23 season at Anfield. The deal includes a permanent option.
Cassano told Bobo TV: “A very serious thing: Arthur. For Allegri, he wasn't a player, he wasn't good, he didn't take him into consideration. Now he's gone to Liverpool, who are one of the strongest teams in the world with one of the best managers in football history.
“Is there a reason Liverpool and Klopp want Arthur and get him? What does it mean? That in this country of incapable and mediocre people, you have to start looking in the mirror and spit in your eyes."
Arthur will wear the No.29 during his stay with Jurgen Klopp's side, and the Liverpool boss spoke of his excitement at getting a deal over the line for the former Barcelona star.
"I'm really happy about this transfer," he told reporters at his pre-match press conference on Friday. "My information is the international clearance will not happen until tomorrow. We all hope he will be fine for Napoli.
"What does he bring? He's a really good footballer, I think we all agree on that. He's had a very exciting career already and is still pretty young, actually in the best age for a footballer or coming to the best age for a footballer."
